Both volumes of "Charlie Parker With Strings", originally released as two 10"s in 1950 & 1953 on Verve Records, were crossover hits, bridging Parker's progressive bop sound with the sweetner of a string section. Reissued as a LP after Bird's death in 1955, Bird's Nest now drops their own 180gram 12" on stunning purple vinyl.
